Latest Updates from Our Project:

Sagas of the Sea Peoples
about 4 years ago – Tue, Feb 04, 2020 at 02:35:20 PM

Thank you everyone for your support on Sword's Edge. I’ve got another Kickstarter which has just kicked off called Sagas of the Sea Peoples

Sagas of the Sea Peoples is set in the Late Bronze Age Collapse, a time that would have felt very much like  an apocalypse for the people who lived through it. The RPG is about the  Sea Peoples, survivors of this ancient Armageddon who coalesced into  communities and sought to build new lives. Many of the great powers of the day saw them as  hordes of ravening barbarians, but from the evidence it seems much more  likely that they were the victims of the Collapse rather than a cause of  it.

There is a Quickstart with just a hint of the story available at Itch.io and at DriveThru RPG.  It provides a glimpse of the mechanics and the setting/historical  period, as well as providing an introductory adventure. If it looks like  something that interests you, I would be very grateful if you would put  your faith in me again and support Sagas of the Sea Peoples.

State of the Patreon
over 6 years ago – Tue, Dec 05, 2017 at 06:37:09 PM

This is just a quick note to let you know that my Patreon for releasing adventures and RPGs has had three releases. Two of these are adventures for Sword’s Edge. In September, I released “Lawless Heaven,” my homage to modern Korean action cinema. It is now available at Drive Thru RPG. In October I released “Face ‘Splosion,” a running and gunning sci-fi actioner. In November, I released an adventure for Nefertiti Overdrive called “Judged,” which links the adventures in the Quickstart Rules and the core rule book. In December, I’ll be releasing For A Few Swords More, a campaign framework for Sword’s Edge that takes tropes and plot elements from the Western genre and puts them in a Sword & Sorcery setting.

There's more information at the Patreon including the projected production up to Sep 2018. All the adventures released through the Patreon will then be available at Drive Thru RPG at a later date. The Patreon is set up so that some backers can actually direct production, so you can have your say in what you want to see.

Thank you for the support you’ve already provided and I hope you’ll consider continuing that support through the Patreon.

The Books Are On Their Way
over 6 years ago – Tue, Sep 19, 2017 at 05:55:58 PM

Hi All!

I have some good news: all the physical books have shipped. All of you waiting for books, they are on the way! I’m really pleased with how this project worked out. There were some bumps in the road, but I’m glad to say that they were all behind the scenes. I’m very happy with the books and I hope you are too.

At the beginning of October, Sword’s Edge will be available through Drive-Thru RPG and I will be sending along links so that you can include it in your digital library. This is good as if you accidentally delete the PDF, you can easily download it again. I have no idea how long the Backerkit links will remain live, but I know DTRPG will be there until that service shuts down, which isn’t going to happening any time soon.

Thank you again for your support. This game is much stronger thanks to you. I hope you take pride in that.

And if you like what you see, please swing by my Patreon where I’ll be releasing adventures for Sword’s Edge and more.

All the best, and stay frosty! Fraser

Where I Get Patreon-izing
over 6 years ago – Sun, Sep 03, 2017 at 09:23:56 AM

Just a quick note to let you know that I have just launched a Patreon. This is a service similar to Kickstarter in that it is a crowd-funding platform. Unlike Kickstarter, it is more like a subscription. Patrons can support an artist per project or per month. In my case, it would be per project. I intend to release a product each month. The first three products for the first three months are already done and ready for release. Those first three products are:

September, the Sword's Edge adventure "Lawless Heaven," my love letter to Korean action cinema;

October, the Sword's Edge adventure "Face 'Splosion," an homage to the Borderlands series of video games; and

November, the Nefertiti Overdrive adventure "Judged," which links the adventure in the Quickstart Rules to the one in the main book.

The other releases are in varying stages of production, but I intend to maintain a buffer of three months, just in case.

Thanks for your time and your support for Sword’s Edge. Please consider having a look and supporting my Patreon.

Final Sword's Edge PDF Available Through Backerkit
over 6 years ago – Sun, Aug 20, 2017 at 09:00:59 AM

The title says it all. You should be able to download the final Sword's Edge PDF through your Backerkit account. You will need to have completed your survey (seven backers still have not and they cannot receive any rewards until they do).

If you have any issues or problems, please let me know at your earliest convenience. The proof for the print version has been cleared, and printing will commence once I touch base with Magpie Games which is shipping our orders.

Just a quick reminder that I'll be running a Patreon (kind of a subscription crowd-funding platform) starting in September. The first product will be available at the end of September and will be the Sword's Edge adventure "Lawless Heaven." The second product will come at the end of October and will be the Sword's Edge adventure "Face 'Splosion." Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you again for your support.
